How Invisalign Works

If we determine that you are a candidate for Invisalign, we will use our advanced iTero digital scanner to take precise impressions of your teeth. This remarkable technology integrates seamlessly with Invisalign software, so it makes the treatment planning process both easy and accurate. Once we design your treatment, the impressions will get sent straight to Invisalign so they can fabricate your aligner trays.

After your aligners are created, you will need to wear each set for 20 – 22 hours every day for about two weeks. As you gradually progress to new aligners, your teeth will shift into their ideal positions. The total average treatment time with Invisalign is 12 – 18 months.

Who Invisalign Can Help

Invisalign is able to address most mild to moderate cases of dental misalignment. Here are a few examples of issues that it is often used to correct:

Crowded Teeth

Crowded, overlapping teeth pose a challenge for oral hygiene and proper bite function. Invisalign, potentially along with one or more extractions, can create space so that each tooth is able to function optimally.

Gaps Between Teeth

Not only do gaps between the teeth look odd, but they can also leave your gums vulnerable to irritation and harm. Invisalign can move your teeth closer together to improve both their function and appearance.

Bite Alignment

Issues like overbite, underbite, crossbite, and open bite are quite common. Invisalign, with the help of certain accessories, is often able to correct cases of malocclusion (bad bites).

The Benefits of Invisalign

Some of the top benefits of Invisalign include:

  • Discreet Appearance: Invisalign aligners are clear and virtually invisible, making them a subtle way to straighten teeth.
  • Removable for Convenience: You can remove your aligners when you brush and floss. This makes it easy to maintain thorough oral hygiene.
  • No Dietary Restrictions: Because you can remove your aligners at mealtimes, there are no limitations on what you can eat during treatment.
  • Comfortable Fit: Smooth, custom-made aligners reduce the risk of irritation to the gums and cheeks compared to traditional braces.
  • Predictable Results: Advanced digital planning allow you to see a preview of your smile before treatment even begins.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

The cost of Invisalign varies from case to case. It depends on how many aligners you need, the severity of your dental misalignment, and more. Often, the cost is roughly in the same ballpark as traditional metal braces. During your consultation, our team can provide an estimate that is tailored to your unique circumstances. We will also be happy to talk with you about payment options. For example, we welcome insurance. We also work with CareCredit to provide low-interest payment plans.
